Sony only just revealed their new console last night, and online bookmaker Paddy Power already has them edging out Microsoft in the next console war. There's nothing wrong with betting a few greenbacks on the Sunday game to keep things interesting, but this is veering into serious problem gambling territory.
The business sent out a press release informing the masses that they have the PS4 at "8/13 favourites to outsell the Xbox 720 in 2013 with Microsoft’s effort available at 6/5 to sell more units than its rival."
Those odds may change when Microsoft announced their plans for the next Xbox, which rumors suggest may occur at a similar event as soon as this April.
Paddy Power has a bit of a history for offering shall we say..."controversial" bets. Some of they're more memorable wagers include odds for an assassination attempt on President Obama, and the potential extinction of the polar bear.
While this isn't nearly as disagreeable, it still rates on the unusual scale. Nevermind how the winner would be determined (total sales, most games sold, best rated, etc.), given the lifespan of consoles these days, particularly Sony products (it took the company 13 years before they ended support for the PlayStation 2), this should be quite the drawn out bet.
Let's see if any those flame-war starting fanboys are willing to put their money where thir mouths are.
