Sony Shows Off Final Fantasy X HD on PS Vita

Sony showed off images from Square Enix' upcoming Final Fantasy X HD upgrade early during an online presentation this morning.

The video shows off character models of FFX protagonists Tidus and Yuna. It's hard to tell exactly how much better the game will look. The image above and recording below is in standard definition, so you won't be getting the full effect.

According to Kotaku, Producer Shinji Hashimoto apologized to fans for the long wait during the broadcast: The Final Fantasy X HD remake was first announced during Tokyo Game Show in 2011, with little information coming from the team since. Regarding a timeframe for the game's release, Hashimoto said "there is a lot to look into" and asked fans to "please wait a bit more," as the completed game is still a ways off. A release date announcement is coming soon, though: It's nice to know that there's a time-table in place, at least.

Final Fantasy X HD will be coming to PS3 and Vita... eventually.
