Rockstar Games continues to focus on adding content to “Grand Theft Auto 5” which means any word on “Grand Theft Auto 6” will render nothing. The only thing known is that game developers have started something but other than that, progress seems to be at a standstill.
Understandably, Rockstar would prefer to hold off “Grand Theft Auto 6” for now seeing how gamers are still preoccupied with "GTA 5." Added content seems to be working for now though it cannot be done forever.
'GTA 6' in 2018 or 2020?
That said, Rockstar will eventually have to deal with the fact that gamers will want to see a next installment in “Grand Theft Auto 6”. 2018 is seen as a logical date though there are rumors claiming that it could go as far as 2020.
The wait is something that “Grand Theft Auto 6” gamers can positively hold on, for now, a whole lot better than potential game cancellations stemming from wary gamers. While they cannot be entirely blamed, the business side of things will still suffice for Rockstar Games.
Why the long wait?
As mentioned by Neurogadget, the waiting game for “Grand Theft Auto 6” could be tied up to the fact that Rockstar is closely monitoring the developments in the game console sector. That includes eventual Xbox and PS game consoles coming out in the coming years which will likely carry new features.
Virtual reality is the leading feature that many are counting on as well as potential 4K to 5K displays that would render better graphics for a potential “Grand Theft Auto 6”. Hence, it is turning out to be a cat-and-mouse between Rockstar and Microsoft/Sony, justifying whey DLCs for "GTA 5" have been focused for now.
2018 or 2020 may be a long way off but the thing here is that most “Grand Theft Auto 6” players want to get are a trailer or an announcement. Could that happen in 2017?
