Konami recently announced a demo Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will be available on the 3DS eShop on February 28th, and that the full game will also available on the eShop at launch.
Producer Dave Cox disproved rumors of a HD port for consoles, saying, "the game is pretty much designed for the 3DS... We have no plans to bring the game to HD consoles."
Set 25 years after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate will act as a precursor to the highly anticipated Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. It's also Nintendo fans' only chance for more good ol' Castlevania action in the forseeable future, as Lords of Shadow 2 isn't coming to the Wii U.
Players take on the role of various heroes from past Castlevania's, including Trevor, Gabriel, and Simon Belmont, as well as Dracula's self-loathing vampire offspring, Alucard. Each demon hunter features their own unique skills: Trevor can double-jump, use Light and Shadow magic, and can use unique sub-weapons like the Glaive and Electric Bomb. Simon, on the other hand, has different sub-weapons and can summon guardians to fight for him or protect him from harm. As in Symphony of the Night, Alucard will be able to change into mist.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate is set to be released for Nintendo's 3DS on March 8th.
