Hotline Miami Publisher to Hold Indie Game Pitch Session on GDC Road Trip

Hotline Miami publisher Devolver Digital is hosting a pitch event for indie game developers on the bus from SXSW in Austin to the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month, according to the company's Tumblr.

Part of the publisher's "Pitch Fork Parker" campaign-named for the company's CFO-to find and promote up and coming game-makers, the publisher is looking for new developers to establish a "non-sexual loving relationship" with.

Of course, the "pitch on a bus" aspect is just for show. Parker will taking all of meeting digitally while he's on the road. He'll also be hearing pitches in person at GDC.

Developer Digital held a similar pitch-a-thon last year, which led to their publishing Dungeon Hearts, a puzzle game with RPG elements for PC, Mac, and iOS. Developer Chris Pavia, the game's developer, said the program "has given me opportunities that would have been nearly impossible to get on my own as a new, unknown developer."

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Plus, there will apparently be messages:

"I was under the impression that 'being developer friendly' just meant buying them dinner, drinks, and possibly a sensual massage," wrote Fork Parker. "But our business development team is more in favor of honesty, integrity, and creative freedom so...you know...whatever."

SXSW 2013 runs from March 8-17. GDC 2013 will be held March 25-29.
