"Titanfall 2," the upcoming sequel to 2014's mech shooter from EA's "Titanfall," promises to serve up some wacky, large-scale chaos. The second installment in the series is set to take the experience up a notch as it includes a single-player campaign, something that was definitely missing from the completely multiplayer first game.
"Titanfall 2"'s single-player story mode makes sure to amp it up by featuring segments where you can only control the pilot, as well as segments where you can only play as the hulking titans. Basically, some parts of the campaign will require all-out action (what EA likes to call "action blocks" of the game), while others will require a stealthier approach.
The story features pilot Jack Cooper, and the game. Especially its stealth and parkour mechanics that turn the game into a platformer at some points, has been designed to be much easier and forgiving to newer players, according to an article by CNET.
The story mode on "Titanfall 2" is really designed to get newer players acquainted with the franchise's gameplay, providing them an accessible way to learn how to play the game well when they finally move up to the team multiplayer games the series is known for. That, or those tired with the monotony of multiplayer mode could play the campaign to get a better grasp of the story. A feature some other new releases could use, such as Blizzard's "Overwatch," which tells the backstory using resources outside the game.
"Titanfall 2" is coming out later this month on October 28 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PC players will be able to download the game via EA's Origin service. There don't seem to be any special bundles or editions coming out with the game, which seems odd in this current culture of add-ons and different versions on release.
