NLF 2016 Latest News & Update: Tony Romo Potential Return Against Philadelphia Eagles, Dak Prescott Out? [POLL]

The Dallas Cowboys get a bit of good news with word that veteran quarterback Tony Romo could return by week 8. This would be on Oct. 30 where the Cowboys will face the Philadelphia Eagles.

The said date is seen as the best logical return for Tony Romo, a sentiment that the Cowboy’s medical team and owner Jerry Jones believes is feasible, ESPN reported. The 36-year-old quarterback continues to sit out due to a compression fracture in his back.

Dallas Cowboys rookie Dak Prescott has been filling in for the recuperating Tony Romo and has so far done a great job. The Cowboys are 3-1, churning out a performance worthy of a veteran.

Dak Prescott brilliance not enough to unseat Tony Romo

Despite the stellar performance of Dak Prescott, Tony Romo will reportedly be getting his starting job back. No other than Jones said this himself as detailed in a previous report here on Game & Guide.

Being a rookie, it seems that Jones want to be certain the he has a veteran out with the rest of the Cowboys as they reach the crucial stretch of the NFL season. Bright as Dak Prescott may have been, the fact remains that he still has a lot of areas the need improvement before he can unseat Tony Romo.

Among the things Prescott needs to work on include field goal conversions especially against tougher teams such as the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Pirates. So far, the 23-year-old QB has completed 66.7 percent of his passes, thrown 767 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions.

Will Jerry Jones change his stand?

Jones is sticking with Tony Romo but all that could change at any moment, the Big Lead reported. There is no question that Prescott has impressed so if and when Tony Romo returns, he may need to prove he still has it. That may possibly take place on Oct. 30 when the Cowboys test the Philadelphia Eagles.
