‘Fallout 4’ Latest News & Update: Update 1.7.19 Pounds On Mod Support, Sony Budging?

Bethesda has release a new patch for “Fallout 4” in update 1.7.19, something meant to address various bugs and render fixes. But the essential part of it is the fact that the latest patch will also update Bethesda.net mods.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, there are an abundance of issues being covered by the latest “Fallout 4” patch. That includes bugs tied up to “Nuka-World” which is tied up to “The Grand Tour” mission. Apparently the mission was impossible to complete though the bug may change all that and get players to the end.

Minor updates to “Fallout 4” update 1.7.19 include changes affecting to previous DLCs – “Far Harbor” and “Contraptions Workshop”. The patch is available to all platforms, including Sony’s PS4.

Why patch the PS4 version?

Seeing the PS4 in the mix may provide “Fallout 4” players with lesser things to look forward to. This is largely in part because Sony has thumbed down the use of mods for their game consoles which limits the possibilities for “Fallout 4” gamers playing under this game console version. Much of that was covered in a previous post.

Nevertheless, the patch seems to be generally made to cover all game versions and the reason why even the PS4 was included. Of course the PS4 version of “Fallout 4” also has its share of bugs to the DLCs that categorically make it a minimal patch to apply.

Will Sony soften up on Bethesda’s pitch?

Right now, it seems Sony is standing pat on its decision on the game mod. Bethesda claims to have presented sample mods for the PS4 but Sony never bothered to get back to them.

With wasted time and Sony ignoring calls, it seems obvious that they are not interested in following Microsoft which allowed game mods for the Xbox, covering games such as “Fallout 4”. A slight issue seen by most is the exclusivity deal between Bethesda and Microsoft, something that could have ticked Sony off.

Moving forward, it would not be surprising if Bethesda was leaving a slight glimmer of hope. Sony has its share of gamers and for the ones wanting mods, taking a stand or a petition for games like “Fallout 4” or “Skyrim Special Edition” could be helpful to the cause.
