Kalypso Media Digital has announced that an extended edition of the first-person indie horror title is coming to Anna for both PC and Mac.
The extended edition features more environments, improved graphics and sound, more puzzles, new music and more gameplay features. Kalypso has also added a new in-game character: "The Wife Doll," which is probably about as creepy as it sounds.
To show off these new features, Kalypso has also put together a short movie to help "set the scene for this psychological horror game." Check it out below!
The game is set in an old sawmill based between Champoluc and Periasc, a place actually existing in the Val D'Ayas in Valle d'Aosta, Italy, Anna has players solve puzzles and 'face' the presences who inhabit the buildings. The main character has come back to the sawmill in the valley to discover the meaning of some nightmares. He doesn't know what he will find, but the weight of his past is stronger than any reason. He must enter the sawmill and resolve puzzles to finally meet his destiny. Player behavior is determined by the character's mental health, and can also affect the game's ending.
More extras for the extended edition include:
- photos of the real-world sawmill location
- complete soundtrack
- main character's notebook in English and Italian
Anna is a bit of a throwback style wise to the earlier examples of survival horror, comparable to Silent Hill. If they havent' already, horror buffs should definitely give this one a try.
