GTX Release Date, News & Update: 1050 Ti & 1050 Pushed To October, Fast Performance At Low Price

GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 2GB variant release date was reportedly moved to October due to supply issues. NVIDIA is expected to launch the two handsets which will feature the AMD Radeon RX 470 series.

Previous leaked reports claimed that GP107 Pascal GPU will be released in late September. Apparently however, supply issues from NVIDIA reportedly pushed the release date of GTX 1050 to October. There are reportedly a few tweaks and improvements which make the handset standout from the GTX 1060 models.

The GTX 1050 Ti is slated to include 4GB RAM compared to GTX 1050 2GB model which had been mistaken for a GTX 1060, HotHardware shared. It has been confirmed whether the two handsets will have similar specs like the 640 CUDA cores and 1354 MHz base clock.

NVIDIA rolled out the GTX 1060 3GB model recently and the 2GB with a slight difference in power. The same thing is said to be done with GTX 1050 models like the GTX 1050 Ti.

Gamers who still use GTX 750 and 750 Ti card are expected to replace them with a GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti, WCCFTech reported. The new Pascal cards are believed to have come earlier with the Maxwell cards already available since 2014. The GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti will cost around $149 to $180 due to the inclusion of the AMD Radeon RX 470.

Meanwhile, the GTX 1080 is said to feature a single GPU powerful enough to game at 4K. On the other hand, NVIDIA's Titan X also features 40 percent more CUDA cores that makes it suitable for 4K gaming. However it also costs twice that of GTX 1080, Tech Post reported.

The GTX 1050 Ti reportedly performs faster than the GTX 960 but at a lower cost. The card's performance was tested in 3DMark 11. The GTX 1050 Ti scored 10,054 points in the performance preset while in the extreme preset it scored 3,867 points. Based on leaked performance and pricing figures, GTX 1050 Ti costs $149 and boasts 75W TDP requirement. The GTX 1050 will cost $119.
