The Eldest Holmes Brother: Sherrinford
"Sherlock" season 4 will pick up the story from the enlightening words of Mycroft, who implied that they have another brother. "I'm not given to outbursts of brotherly compassion," Mycroft said before revealing, "You know what happened to the other one." This definitely supports the fan theory that there's another Sherlock brother, Observer noted.
According to the online publication, the existence of an elder Holmes was questioned by William S. Baring-Gold in a 1962 fictional biography, "Sherlock Holmes of the Baker Street." The story tells that the Holmes came from a family of county landlords. While Sherlock decided to become a detective, his brother Mycroft worked on the government. This should leave someone to manage their vast estates. This is where Sherrinford enters the scene, hopefully in the person of Tom Hiddleston in "Sherlock" season 4.

Gatiss teased fans further on Twitter when he posted a picture of himself with Hiddleston. The snap was captioned as "Blud," which was the same term Sherlock used to call his brother last season.
