With Dead Space 3 out today, no doubt at least a few of you have already managed to blast their way through Necromorph and Unitology troopers to completion, only to ask, "What's next?"
Well, for those of you not screaming profanities into your 360 headsets, seeing which F and S-bombs do what, Visceral has announced the first DLC campaign for Dead Space 3, and it should go over a bit better than that microtransaction business.
Dubbed Awakening, Visceral describes that the DLC will have some of the "darkest chapters as the Necromorph battles become even more gruesome and terrifying than before." While the developer didn't elaborate, that to me spells out new, crazy, screwed up necromorphs, and/or some bizarre backstory.
The pack will be available on all platforms, PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, through Origin, PSN and XBL, respectively. Out in Marhc, players can grab the DLC for $9.99, or 800 MicroSoft Points.
While the game may be out, and the DLC still yet to come, don't think on a console or PC is the last way you'll see Dead Space. Speaking with Official Xbox Magazine UK, associate producer Yara Khoury stated that there's still a whole wide world, even a universe, left for the franchise to explore, and another sequel is a possibility.
"Well, we will always have plenty of ideas to expand the Dead Space universe, you know. Dead Space is much more than just a game - we've expanded the franchise over comic books, graphic novels, animated features," Khoury said. "Our creative team has a lot of imagination, so I can see Dead Space going in so many places, and I think it's just going to depend on how well this game does - if players like it and they want another one then, you know, we'll make one." With two animated movies under their belt, maybe even a live action movie is a possibility.
Dead Space 3 is now available now in North America, and arrives in Europe on Feb. 8.
