Gearbox's upcoming first-person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines will feature a $30 downloadable content Season Pass, according to a Gamestop listing.
Video game website GameSpot is reporting that a Gamestop product listing states that the game will have four expansions by summer 2013 and that these add-on will be included in the Season Pass for Aliens: Colonial Marines.
The expansions are expected to include extra campaign content, additional multiplayer maps, new modes, and further character customization options, according to GameSpot.
As of right now Gearbox has not announced extra content for the yet to be released game. GameSpot's attempted to reach the company for a comment, but did receive an immediate statement from the developer.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will release on Feb. 12, 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. A Wii U version is expected as well, but a release date has yet to be revealed by Sega.
The game is meant to be a true sequel to James Cameron's film, with the story of Aliens: Colonial Marines taking place after the events of the third film, Alien 3. 20th Century Fox considers the game an official part of the Alien franchise's canon.
The story is told through the eyes of Corporal Christopher Winter, a Colonial Marine who is part of a search and rescue team sent to investigate the U.S.S. Sulaco in search of Ellen Ripley and the rest of the missing marines who were dispatched to LV-426.
Gamers who pre-order Colonial Marines will receive multiplayer marines from the classic movie: Hudson, Hicks, Apone, and Drake. Gamers will also get Ripley's flamethrower to help them recreate some classic scenes from the film franchise.
There will also be an Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector's Edition for $99.99 that comes with a powerloader vs. Xenomorph statuette, a USCM dossier containing a mission brief, a schematic of the USS Sephora, a recruitment card, iron-on badges, recon photos and a USCM graduation certificate.
