WWE Rumors 2016: Roman Reigns Tasked To Raise Stock With United States Title

Roman Reigns continues to struggle as far as getting the support from the WWE fans but instilling him as the new United States champion could make a difference. The Big Dog won the title over Rusev at WWE Clash of Champion and somehow the boos have softened.

Of course, Roman Reigns has Rusev to thank as well. Without the “Bulgarian Brute’s” menacing heel persona, the “Big Dog” may have had no shot at drowning out some of the fans who are not buying his rise in the WWE. Moving forward, there is no question that he will be once again be catapulted to the main event.

Cementing semi-main event status

Roman Reigns is likely to focus on defending the US title with Rusev at the top of the list. Following his win over the Bulgarian at WWE Raw (Sept. 26), it remains to be seen who will step up to the plate to face him. Until that happens, it looks like it will be an ongoing feud between the two which may be more than being US champion.

That said, Roman Reigns can use the opportunity to recharge and work on the flaws that have been lacking. His work behind the microphone has been showing improvement though one thing the WWE creative team may want to seriously look into is his ‘indestructable’ persona.

Such was seen as the reason why Reigns fell off with the WWE Universe. Compared to the time when he served as the enforcer for the “Shield”, the “Big Dog” has dwindled in popularity.

Critics feel that Roman Reigns was only partly to be blamed. Instead, it was the script to establish him as the new face of the WWE that took a hit. Now, it will be up to the creative team to make the necessary tweaks seeing Vince McMahon is not about to give up on Reigns.
