If rumors are to be believed, the Huawei Mate 9 will be released early November. The Huawei Mate 8 was also released in November last year. However, conversations on Weibo early this month hinted at a December release. The Huawei Mate 7 was launched in October 2014.
According to International Business Times, the Huawei Mate 9 will have a 5.9-inch display Full HD along with amazing specs such as 20MP dual-lens camera, Kirin 960 processor, 64GB internal storage and 6GB of RAM. The dual-lens camera will have both a black and white and a color sensor. The camera would be similar to Huawei P9's camera. The secondary camera is expected to be of 8MP.
The Weibo leak revealed that the Huawei Mate 9 camera won't have a Leica branding or a laser autofocus. Dual LED flash and fingerprint scanner may be incorporated in the handset. Some rumors suggest that the 20MP dual-lens camera will be optically stabilized.
While the 20MP dual-lens camera is a major draw for the Huawei Mate 9, its Kirin 960 chipset is also being talked about a lot. Huawei may also step up the ante with an ARM Cortex-A73 core design for more power and efficiency.
The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to run on the Android 7.0 Nougat and have the EMUI 5 interface. According to Androidcentral, the updated software would eliminate the problems with past EMUI versions, especially in the app-switching, lock screen and notification shade areas.
Mobile & Apps reports that the Huawei Mate 9 may be released in three variants - 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The 64GB and 128GB devices will have 4GB RAM whereas the 256GB variant will have the mega 6GB RAM. USB Type-C device may also be included.
The Huawei Mate 9 price for the base model could be around $510 and it may go up to $705 for the premium variant. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more Huawei Mate 9 news and updates!
