After more than a decade, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of "Half-Life 3." Valve's first-person shooting game will celebrate its 20th anniversary come 2018.
"Half-Life 3" is rumored to be released in tuned with the latest gaming technology with its developer partnering with the HTC Vive, the company's latest virtual headset. Or Valve could make a different title for the game that is fully supported by VR.
Kraken Base is a familiar setting that will be adopted in "Half-Life 3." It was part of the second part of the game and was originally intended to be in the start instead of the train. Gordon Freeman can go to Borealis when he follows the sound of the bell through an ice-locked, fog-packed Resistance base in the Arctic.
To reach Kraken Base, Gordon Freeman uses a submarine to travel underwater. Freeman was supposed to meet Doctor Helena Mossman when he was betrayed by his allies, the doctor included, and got trapped in the base. The gameplay will be Gordon going after his enemies and eventually blowing up the entire base. Nevertheless, fans are still hopeful that "Half-Life 3" will see the return of Kraken Base, which is also rumored to become the enemies' stronghold.
Aside from Kraken Base, "Half-Life 3" is rumored to have two more terrains that Gordon Freeman can explore which are located under water. Adding a submarine to the gameplay will certainly add more excitement to it.
The rumor that "Half-Life 3" is in the making was when Markus "Notch" Persson, creator of "Minecraft," tweeted "hl3pls." Fans were quick to pick it up as they also want to see a continuation of the game that has been promised since 2006 and has sold 12 million copies according to Rolling Stone.
