Unlike the Apple MacBook Pro 2016's recent news of having a new OLED touch bar or additional USB Type-C ports, its little brother the MacBook Air 2016 seems to be pushed aside a lot these past few months. With no significant or logical news of any upgrade for the MacBook Air lineup, should MacBook Air fans even have a reason to hope?

There are reports by news websites and techblogs in in recent months that Apple is discontinuing the MacBook Air 2016. But despite all of these, us here in Game & Guide reported last week that Apple is not planning to totally phase out the production of the MacBook Air lineup but just to skip this year's version.

MacBook Air Program Still Ongoing

As stated by Mobile & Apps, Apple is planning to drop the 11-inch MacBook air model and introduce instead a 15-inch model and keeping the 13-inch version on the MacBook Air lineup. Aside from that, another external hardware change is instead of USB 3 ports, it will now be replaced with USB Type-C.

A rumored retina display just like the MacBook Pro. Now the MacBook Air line is known as the budget laptops of Apple however it can offer a top of the line MacBook Air so that it can be equipped with Retina display.

Goodbye MacBook Air 2016, See You Soon MacBook Air 2017

Several reports are already confirming that fans of the MacBook Air will not see its shadow in Apple's October event, in fact even for the rest of 2016. As reported by Mobile & Apps, Apple will skip the MacBook Air 2016. It's new scheduled release date will be early 2017 with improved internals and more options.
