‘Sherlock’ Season 4" News & Update: Silence Broken By Renewal News; Fans Now Demanding Its Return?

"Sherlock" Season 4 is in for a big "bang" premiere after the long silence, making the million avid fans excited for its return. The absence of the British-American "Victorian era" series has created rumours that it will be dropped from the airwaves for good.

However, "Sherlock" Season 4 has been bracing for a much awaited re-appearance to satisfy the cravings of the disappointed viewers. According to Latinpost, delays in the making of the series were attributed to the busy schedules of the main actors.

The renewed series of "Sherlock" Season 4 will continue to cast Benedict Cumberbatch playing Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Holmes colleague, Dr. John Watson. The scene will retain the "1890's London era. Other characters will include Mary Morstan (Amanda Abbington), Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) and Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs).

There is a big jump from season 3 to "Sherlock" Season 4. It was reported by Deadline that a 90-minute special episode would have been opened in the new year of 2016, but it did not happen. The premiere showing of the special could have been a simultaneous airing in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

"Sherlock" Season 4 has been filming since mid 2016, more than ready for the new season. The series creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss had been running like crazy in completing the scripts.

While everyone is so excited of the premier date, the show runners of "Sherlock" Season 4 are dependent on the announcement of the BBC network. One thing is sure however, that the premiere opening is all set in January 2017.
