The speculations, credible or not, continue to reel in and here is one involving three prominent all-star guards – Chris Paul, Derrick Rose and John Wall. The fantasized deal will also include Kristaps Porzingis and Otto Porter, making it a multi-team deal.
From the protagonists alone, this is one NBA trade rumor that is crazily unlikely to happen. Derrick Rose has just landed in New York while Chris Paul and John Wall are unlikely to be dealt just like that.
The suggestion is obviously preposterous despite the fact that the teams involved (Knicks, Wizards, and Clippers) could somehow benefit. Inserting Porzingis alone makes the whole thing senseless since everyone knows how the Latvian has become a future pillar for Phil Jackson’s boys.
Wall and Bradley rift unlikely to spur trade
Everyone has heard of the alleged rift between John Wall and Bradley Beal but all that was seen as nothing more than the competitive spirit that resides within. Hence, pulling the trigger to trade Wall may make some sense though unlikely at least for now.
One thing that could take Wall out of the equation is the fact that he has been suffering from frequent injuries. Seeing him move over to the Clippers makes no sense at all considering Doc Rivers need durable and reliable guards.
Chris Paul won’t get away that easily
While it is a known fact that Chris Paul may be among the most sought after free agents in 2017, it makes no sense to add his name to the trade. The potential notion is for the Clippers to get something in return but certainly not injury-prone players like Wall. Besides, Rivers has already mentioned that they intend to keep both Paul and Blake Griffin, ESPN reported.
The NBA trade scenario involving the players could happen but only if this was NBA Fantasy basketball. As far as the real league is concerned, this is nothing more than a play to gain attention.
