First Part of Assassin's Creed 3's DLC, The Tyranny of King Washington, Comes Next Month

After teasing it for oh so very long it seems, Ubisoft finally announced the release date for the first part of Assassin's Creed 3's DLC, The Tyranny of King Washington.

Xbox 360 and PC gamers, mark your calenders for Feb. 19. PS3 won't have to wait much longer, they'll get access to the DLC the following day, Feb. 20.

"What if the story of America was not the one you knew? Revealing a nation born not of courage and brotherhood, but of greed and desire for absolute power." The Tyranny of King Washington aims to answer that question. The DLC is an alternate take on Assassin's Creed 3's story, in which, while Washington and the rest of the Colonial troops still managed to defeat the British, Washington took the victory as an opportunity to crown himself as the new King of the United States, and it looks like he managed to get himself a Piece of Eden in the process, likely the root of his corruption.

In this version's history, Connor never took the name Connor, and never became an assassin. As such, "he must endure new trials, acquiring the skills he'll need to take down a possessed Washington and win freedom for his land once and for all," according to Ubisoft's official synopsis.

All three episodes of the DLC will be available through the Assassin's Creed 3 Season Pass, or gamers can grab each episode individually as they arrive. Each episode will run for 800 MS points on Xbox 360, or $9.99 each for PS3 and PC gamers.
