Previously, Frank is eyeing to remain on his seat as the President of the United States. His wife, on the other hand, is opting to win the vice presidential race. However, there are swirling rumors that Claire won't be contented to be only the POTUS's right hand and wants to take her husband's place instead. In "House of Cards" Season 5, Claire might plan to assassinate Frank for her to obtain the presidency.
There are also hearsays that if Claire won't be the one to kill Frank in "House of Cardse" Season 5, it would be Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly), as per Headlines & Global News. There are assumptions that the state leader will be killed by someone who is close to him and that would be either of the two. Mahershala Ali, who portrays Remy Danton, asserted in an interview with The Wrap, that it would be far interesting to see Frank die in the hands of someone he trusts.
Michael Kelly Slams Death Rumors
In a report by GamenGuide, Michael Kelly himself talked about the rumors that Frank is going to die in "House of Cards" Season 5. "You lose characters that you love," the 47-year-old star hinted. But, he later cleared that fans almost lost Frank before, but the show's writers know how to stick to the TV series original story. He also teased that even some fans are getting lost with a lot of rumors; cast will surely feature what the political drama is about.
Michael Kelly even revealed that his character as Doug Stamper is often the target of death rumors. However, no matter what they say, Doug survived and will still be seen in "House of Cards" Season 5. Netflix has yet to announce the release of "House of Cards" Season 5, but it is expected to be out in 2017.
