September is almost drawing to a close and PlayStation Plus subscribers are already excited about the new slate of free titles for October 2016. Some say that the PlayStation Plus free games next month will be better compared to Microsoft's Xbox Games With Gold list.
The BitBag wrote that the Microsoft Games With Gold October 2016 list has already been released. From October 1 to 30, Xbox players can enjoy "I Am Alive" and "MX vs. ATV Reflex" for free, although these are regularly $14.99 and $29.99, respectively. "MX vs. ATV" will only be available until October 15. The other games in the list are "Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" and "The Escapists," which regularly cost $19.99 each. These are the games that PlayStation Plus free games will have to contend with next month.
Meanwhile, it was also revealed that PlayStation Plus subscription in the United States and Canada will increase by $10 before the end of September 2016. This means that the PlayStation Plus total will be the same with Xbox Live's $60 annual fee. Sony may make up for the increase by featuring some great titles in October. Some of the free games that may appease fans include "Resident Evil 6" for PlayStation 4, which will pave the way for the launch of "Resident Evil 7." Sony can also include "Tomb Raider Definitive Edition," considering that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will release soon.
Vine Report stated that PlayStation Plus may feature "Watch Dogs" in its free games lineup, after players have been asking for more AAA games to be added. There may also be a horror title coming to PlayStation Plus for Halloween month. Other rumored PlayStation Plus titles to arrive include "Bound By Flame," "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag," "Knack," "Nights of the Azure," and "Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD." "Rugby Challenge 3," "Blood Bowl 2," "Xblaze Code: Embryo," "SenranKaguraShinovi Versus," Dead Island," "From Dust," "BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend" and "Killzone: Shadow Fall" are also speculated to be available on PlayStation Plus.
Sony has yet to confirm any of the titles. Players have had mixed responses on whether PlayStation Plus or Xbox Games With Gold offers better titles. Sony is expected to deliver more popular titles due to upcoming sequels and the subscription fee increase. More updates and details on PlayStation Plus free games for October 2016 are expected soon.
