Bandai Namco recently featured the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" trailer and several screenshots at the Tokyo Game Show 2016. There will be new characters coming as well.
Gematsu stated that the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" video, titled "Protect Our Memories," provided more details about the storyline. At the start of the video, Trunks invited warriors to join the Time Patrol, whose job is to ensure that history remains unchanged so that everyone's memories are protected. He continued that they have a school and full item shop that will equip potential Time Patrol workers with everything they need. Later in the clip, several Dragon Ball heroes and villains were presented in action. The screenshots also showed characters like Super Saiyan God Super SaiyanGoku, Vegeta, Metal Cooler, Golden Frieza and others.
The "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" trailer, which lasted three minutes, stated that players can challenge the six-player co-op expert missions. Players were advised to join forces and use the unique abilities and powers of their allies to defeat the enemy. One "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" scene showed an entire group of heroes taking on a giant gorilla-like monster. The narrator also hinted that certain allies may turn against teammates, so they players have to be on guard at all times.
iTechPost reported that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will feature Namekian Nail as a playable character. The character initially appeared in Dragon Ball Z, and subsequently teamed up with Piccolo. Namekian Nail will reportedly join the plot of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." Mecha Cooler will also be part of the story, while Goku and Vegeta will feature their Super Saiya Blue versions. In the last "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" game, the two characters were only available via DLC, but they will be in the main roster in the next instalment.
Some of the non-playable characters in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" include Bulma and Dende. According to game director Masayuki Hirano, there will be no original "Dragon Ball Z" characters that will be shown in the new game. All characters can also fly. There will reportedly be more characters arriving in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" via DLC packs. "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is set to launch on Oct. 25, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America. European markets will follow on October 28, together with PC players via Steam around the world.
