A "Star Wars" comic by Marvel is in the works, which will focus on Yoda before he became a Jedi Master. The story will delve on events that happened years before "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace."
StarWars.com reported that series writer Jason Aaron shared some details aboutIssue 26 of the "Star Wars" comic. Luke Skywalker will come across a journal entry from Obi-Wan Kenobi that discusses some of Yoda's background. Aaron explained that "Star Wars" fans generally know Yoda as the wise teacher and valiant Jedi Master, but only few have pondered about his character as a Jedi. The upcoming tale will present Yoda on a strange adventure.
Aaron continued that they had to come up with a worthy enemy for Yoda during his younger years. The writer said that the "Star Wars" comic will also include the brief appearance by Qui-Gon and young Obi-Wan, which means that the events will only be a few years before "Episode I." Part of the mystery includes the villain who could actually be a threat to Yoda. The "Star Wars" character will be facing a unique kind of challenge and it will be more than him being the more powerful Jedi. Perhaps he will also be struggling with his own abilities as a regular Jedi.
Yahoo stated that Salvador Larroca is the artist of "Star Wars No. 26." The comic will feature Luke Skywalker reading some of Kenobi's memories while he is on exile on Tatooine. Aaron shared that they have always been trying to look for a spot for Yoda in the comics and successfully link him, Luke and Obi-Wan simultaneously, although the story happens over three different timelines. Yoda will remain very much the same wise character that fans have always seen in the films, although his attitude may be different. The character will feature a certain playfulness that may have been hinted in previous "Star Wars" movies.
Fans can enjoy "Star Wars No. 26" while waiting for the next movie in the franchise, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," which is set to release on Dec. 16, 2016. More updates and details on the saga are expected soon.
