Achievements Give Credibility to Rumor that Resident Evil: Revelations is Getting Ported Over to Xbox 360

Back in November, the Korean Ratings Board had Resident Evil: Revelations listed for arrival on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, where it would be called the mouthful of a title, Resident Evil: Revelations - Unveiled Edition. Take THAT, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 - Mirror of Fate. But that was pretty much the last we heard of it. Until now, that is.

Now, prominent achievement and trophy tracker site Exophase has achievements listed for the title, lending credence to rumors that the game may be coming after all. The only problem? Capcom never confirmed the 3DS original was being ported to consoles at all, which is why it's so odd for achievements to pop up like this.

Set in 2005, Resident Evil: Revelations told the story of B.S.A.A founders Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine on one of the organizations very first missions. Gameplay wise, it's quite similar to Resident Evil 4 and 5, but received praise for trying to bring back the "survival horror" aspect that later games seem to be missing.

While zombies are notably absent, replaced by "Ooze," Revelations does see the return of an even more horrific version of Hunters. The majority of the game takes place aboard the luxury cruise liner, the Queen Zenobia, which features interiors highly reminescent of the mansion from the first Resident Evil. Like the first title, gameplay is also similar, focusing more on item management and puzzle solving, than the run n' gun gameplay the series seems to have devolved into, but keeps the camera style popularized in recent games.

According to GameTrailers, "What you have here is a full-featured Resident Evil release squeezed down onto the 3DS. It sacrifices little due to the hardware, with its most glaring faults a result of development decisions. The meaty campaign is short on scares, but well-designed and engaging, while the raid mode will sink its claws into you after just a couple missions. While tip-toeing the line between old series staples and its latest evolutions, Resident Evil: Revelations proves that what's old can be new again."

We'll be sure to keep you informed on any news regarding a Revelations port.
