Cable to Feature in High Moon Studios' Deadpool Game

Metal-clad future soldier Nathan Summers, or as he's perhaps more well known, Cable, is set to fight alongside the motor mouthed mercenary in his very own upcoming video game, Deadpool.

The announcement comes courtesy of Deadpool and Cable creator Rob Liefeld, who let fans know of the news over at his website.

Not much of a surprise considering Cable's partner Domino was announced that she'd be appearing in the game back during New York's Comic Con back in October, but still great news all the same. As much fun as I can presume it will be to take to enemies with Deadpool's martial arts and swordman abilities while he no doubt cracks wise all the while, I can only imagine the sheer joy of firing off a couple rounds from Cable's ginormic signature guns.

The two featured in their own run of comics together, the simply titled "Cable & Deadpool," where longtime Cable ally Deadpool would frequently appear to butt heads with the red dudded wisenheimer. For those unaware, Cable is, according to Liefeld, "the straight man to Deadpool's babbling lunatic...their long partnership gives cable a keen understanding of Wade's psychosis, making him more tolerant - and better able to manipulate - his crazy comrade. No slouch in the power department, Cable has a mix of telekinetic and telepathics abilities; he's also a master tactician."

Also set to appear is the physical embodiment of Death, though not the classic personification with the robes and sickle, but rather the one that a man like Deadpool would appreciate. One with boobs.

Given Cable's history with time travel, and an entity as powerful as Death, mixed with Wade's penchant for surrealist lunacy, the storyline for Deadpool should serve to be all sorts of wacky. "It's been a long time since I've laughed this much while making or playing a video game," said Deadpool game director Sean Miller.

Deadpool is planned to release sometime this year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
