"Skyrim" fans will be getting PS4 mod support and the news is being heavily cheered by fans all over. Players were left upset when Sony announced it would not support mod use on its console.
Bethesda, in an official statement on its website, stated that Sony had decided to not offer mod support on PS4 after months of discussion. The mod support would have allowed players to do anything with "Skyrim" Special Edition and "Fallout 4." "Until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available," Bethesda wrote.
Even though Bethesda is disappointed with Sony's decision, it is trying out other options for "Skyrim." The team is hoping to bring user mods to PS4 using other ways. VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, Pete Hines, said in a tweet that although the company cannot get into specifics, it still wants some kind of mod support for PS4, reports Mobile & Apps.
In a response to a Twitter user, Hines even stated that Bethesda is committed to keep working on the mod support front until something fruitful comes up. The "Skyrim" Special Edition will be released on Oct. 28 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
When some fans questioned the game publisher's failure to bring mods to PS4, stating the example of another popular game "Farming Simulator 17" that had no issues as to mod support, Hines pointed out the difference in various mods' scope, scale and technicality with respect to "Skyrim."
Back in June, Bethesda Game Studios tweeted about something that the developers have always wanted to do and that is return to the world they love, that is "Skyrim" Special Edition. Bethesda first announced the "Skyrim" Special Edition at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016.
