Apple has started rolling out the iOS 10 and the next thing that Apple jailbreaking fans want to know is when an official crack will come out. Right now the answer to that is ‘unknown’. It is a fact that Pangu did show off that iOS 10 jailbreak back in July, something that came alongside the iOS 9.3.2 and iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak.
The most recent attempt to jailbreak iOS 10 comes from Lucas Todesco who came out with a crack for the beta 8, Gotta Be Mobile. Even before iOS 10 rolled out, there were already murmurs of a possible iOS 10 jailbreak happening either this September or October. The only problem is that most of these came from sites who were panning out speculations.
Pangu mum and working on an iOS 10 jailbreak
With the official iOS 10 version now out for Apple devices, the attention now shifts to Pangu. As mentioned in a previous post, an iOS 10 jailbreak is expected to reasonably come out by next month.
That would be more than enough time for Pangu to propagate the iOS 10 jailbreak unless Apple pulls another fast one. Recall that the Cupertino company thwarted all jailbreaks with the surprise release of iOS 9.3.5, something forcibly done to address security issues brought about by Citizen Lab.
Pangu is understandably taking its time before rolling out an iOS 10 jailbreak and with good reason. The hacker group wants to release a reliable crack to the Apple jailbreaking community though taking a long time to do so could be detrimental.
However, Pangu needs to also consider that the longer they wait, the lesser time an iOS 10 jailbreak would become useful. With or without exploits, Apple’s follows a certain process to address bugs with new fixes, including some which hacker groups try exploiting. October is a reasonable month to see an iOS 10 jailbreak but it Pangu could do well to come out with one earlier than the speculated date.
