Nerlens Noel is expectedly in the NBA trade deadlines once again and the latest team linked to the Philadelphia 76er center-forward is the New Orleans Pelicans. They are the same team that picked him up during the 2013 NBA Draft.
Nerlens Noel has been tied up to several teams already, the most high profile of which is that one involving him and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kevin Love. Game & Guide covered that post before which you can back read here.
While that could be wishful thinking, Nerlens Noel’s name is expected to be in the rumor mill until something comes down. That is unless the Sixers end up playing him for the coming season.
Nerlens Noel to the New Orleans Pelicans?
The latest team being mentioned in the Nerlens Noel sweepstakes is the New Orleans Pelicans. To make it happen, the Pelicans would have to trade off some key assets. Two names have been tossed in the mix – Quincy Pondexter and Tyreke Evans, CBS Sports reported.
Worth noting is that the Sixers are looking to add guards to the mix which makes Quincy Pondexter and Tyreke Evans sensible trade bait for Nerlens Noel. The Pelicans won’t lose that much considering it give rookie Buddy Hield the chance to shine.
Getting Nerlens Noel will aid resident star Anthony Davis, a duo that could be fearsome and formidable. Noel has been known to be good on both ends of the court so one can just imagine the rim protection and domination off the boards that he and Davis carry.
Take note that Nerlens Noel is not the only player the Sixers are dangling for trade. There is also sophomore Jahlil Okafor who has been getting attention as well. If the deal set is right, the Sixers may end up giving away Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor eventually where their obvious need is guards to compliment its talented frontline.
