If you received a 3DS XL for Christmas this year, you're in luck. Nintendo made the offer back in Nintendo, but today's the first day for 3DS XL owners to download a free game. Only catch? Make sure you register your console with Club Nintendo.
The steps are fairly simple:
1. Use the Club Nintendo registration card provided with your Nintendo 3DS XL system to register it at www.club-nintendo.co.uk.
2. Complete the registration survey and click the promotional banner that appears at the end.
3. Check that the email address linked to your Club Nintendo account is correct, then follow the on-screen prompts to choose one of the five free games available.
4. Once you receive your unique download code by email, go to Nintendo eShop through your Nintendo 3DS XL system between January 1st, 2013 and January 31st, 2013.
5. Scroll to the far left in the main page of Nintendo eShop and select 'Settings/Other', then tap 'Redeem Download Code' and enter your code.
Might seem like a lot, but the price is right.
