Android 7.0 Nougat comes with a new split-screen mode that allows easy multitasking, where users can use two apps simultaneously even on their phones. Just double tap the Multitasking button on the screen to switch between the two recent apps.
Android 7.0 Nougat's recent release has provided new features and improvements. Among these are new UI improvements, better notifications, improved security, Doze feature improvements, split-screen mode, VR Mode, Vulkan APL and Android for Work. However, reports indicate that the only supported device could receive the update for now.
Also, the notification system has been improved and changed in the new update, where the notifications from a similar app can be bundled together, rather than be displayed separately. The bundle can be expanded on each notification and reply to them as well. There is also no need to go into an app in order to reply directly on each notification; just swipe down on the notification and either reply or ignore.
In addition to this, Android 7.0 Nougat's Doze 2.0 allows the previous features to work even then the phone is in the pocket. Rather than check for updates and location all the time, Nougat can do this in order to save battery. There is also a new Data Saver feature that when enabled, can turn off background data when the screen is off or when apps are in the background. Data limit can also be set, N4BB reported.
Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to launch Android 7.0 Nougat update to its devices before 2016 ends. While reports indicate that the South Korean company has not confirmed the list of devices that may receive the new OS update, there are speculations that the firmware may first come to Galaxy Note 7.
Other reports also indicate that Samsung may begin rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to its other devices in November or December. Nevertheless, the arrival of Android 7.0 Nougat to Samsung's premium and mid-range devices should be expected after its flagship devices receive it, International Business Times reported.
