Arian Foster ran for 207 yards and three touchdowns Saturday afternoon and The Houston Texans defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 34-31 to advance to the divisional round of the AFC Playoffs.
The Texans' Matt Schaub threw for 189 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Wide receiver Andre Johnson had 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Bengals led 17-14 at halftime, but on the first drive of the third quarter Foster broke a tackle in the backfield and scampered up the sideline for a 54-yard touchdown run, his second score of the game. The Texans scored again on their next possession to make it 24-17.
Andy Dalton then took the Bengals downfield on an 88-yard, 16-play touchdown drive to tie the game at 24 a piece. Dalton connected with A.J. Green for an 18-yard touchdown pass in the middle of the endzone.
Dalton was 20 of 32 for 278 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Green caught nine passes for a 125 yards, while Brian Leonard and Cedric Peerman combined for a 109 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
Cincinnati's defense started to bring the heat on Schaub late in the third quarter and sacked the quarterback three times and intercepted one of his passes.
Geno Atkins had two sacks in the game and Manny Lawson had 12 tackles with three for losses and one interception.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Bengals were able to capitalize off of the turnover when Dalton connected with Green for the second time in the half to take the lead and make it 31-24, but things went downhill for the Bengals from there on.
On the ensuing kickoff, Keshawn Martin took the ball 68 yards too the Bengals' 33 yardline, setting up a Shayne Graham field goal to cut into the lead.
On the next Cincinnati drive, Texans' defensive end J.J. Watt created a turnover when he strip-sacked Dalton on a crucial third-and-long, giving Houston great field position and an opportunity to take the lead late in the game.
Foster would score seven plays later and the Houston Texans advance to the second round of the AFC playoffs.
