With no more releases left to look forward to by the year's end, and all this fiscal cliff nonsense, there's nothing like bringing in the New Year by blowing stuff up. No one knows this more than Battlefield 3 players, who according to a recent infographic, number close to 1.1 million.
DICE knows this too, which is why they've announced a four day long festivity granting Battlefield 3 premium members double XP, for basically everything: all game modes, all maps, including all four DLC maps. Not too shabby if you snagged yourself a copy of the game with the premium membership for Christmas.
The battlegasm kicks off at midnight tonight, and goes until Jan. 5th, 6:00 PST.
There's still one more DLC packaged for Battlefield 3 fans to look forward to - End Game. Slated for a March release, DICE claims the DLC will deliver "some of the most high-speed warfare to date." The DLC adds four new maps, three new vehicles including a dirt bike and lightweight AA vehicles, a new dropship providing support to ground troops, and returns the Capture the Flag game mode.
A price hasn't yet been revealed, though DICE has said Premium Members get access to the DLC for free.
Battlefield 3 is out now for Microsoft Windows PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
