Developer Ubisoft makes history as it recently sells over 100 million Assassin's Creed games since the franchise was launched in 2007. The epic milestone was just reached this month and with such a big achievement, the developer would like to thank its fans with a pleasant surprise.
GameSpot reports that senior producer Marting Scheilling describes his experience with the game by saying that "creating an Assassin's Creed game is no easy task." He adds that it takes "the creativity and hard work of many people in many different Ubisoft studios all around the world. To have this franchise join the ranks of those that have reached more than 100 million sold is a testament to the teams that have taken on that challenge over the years." Brand Director for Assassin's Creed Etienne Allonier also adds that going past the 100 million mark was a huge milestone, but they have even better games coming.
By making it past the 100 million mark, Assassin's Creed has already joined the likes of Mario, Final Fantasy, FIFA, Pokemon, Grand Theft Auto, and many more. In April of 2014, the sales total for the Assassin's Creed series was already at 73 million, while no title specific details were revealed.
The BitBag reports that to thanks its fans for the colossal support, Ubisoft will be coming out with a generous treat for all of them. After selling its 100 millionth copy, Assassin's Creed will be offering was is considered as the best offer yet: The "Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection." The "Ezio Collection" will bring different titles in one package which include Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed revelation. This package, which is as epic as Ubisoft's milestone achievement, will be made available on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One platforms.
The "Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection" will prioritize single player mode of all three games that are included with the package. As the name itself implies, this package will follow the journey of one of the pioneers of its franchise, Ezio Auditore da Fireze. While it is reported that Ubisoft will not be releasing another standalone Assassin's Creed game this year, the package will be accompanies by "Embers" and "Lineage."
