Rumor - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Coming to PC?

A PC port had been raised as a possibility for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but now a recent test on the game may bring a PC version that much closer to reality.

To show off the Cyborg suit for Raiden offered by GameStop pre-orders, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima put up a picture of said costume, seen above. As you'll notice, the version he showed off was on a PC, signaling possible development for the game to come to PC.

Backing up rumors, Rising's lead programmer tweeted a confirmation that the shot was indeed from a PC version, not an Xbox 360 devkit. However, Kojima, Konami, nor Platinum Games have confirmed a PC version is indeed in the works.

Set four years after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Rising sees Metal Gear's resident cyborg Raiden slice n' dice through metal as well as men. Since his last appearance, Raiden has since gone to work for the private military and security company, Maverick Security Consulting Inc.

Though there will be some stealth elements, what Rising's creative producer, Shigenobu Matsuyama describes as "hunting stealth," Metal Gear Rising is obviously all about the action. Armed with a high frequency blade that can cut through steel like a hot knife through butter, players will use a sophisticated cutting system to command Raiden to hack n' slash through hordes of enemies, and make french fries four different ways.

Appearances by past Metal Gear characters such as Solidus Snake should also serve to flesh out Raiden's backstory as a child soldier, and his development into the weapon of war he's become.

A demo has been announced for January. The aforementioned Grey Fox skin is likely one of many more to come, as Rising producer Yuji Korekado has confirmed that the game will have DLC.

If that's not enough, you could also pick up the Collector's Edition of Revengeance, which offers the game, soundtrack, steelbook case, and a sword lamp...thing.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will release for PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in February. Check out the english trailer here!
