Best Buy Offering Post-Christmas Deal for Nintendo's Wii U

While it may not have beat a certain analyst's prediction, Nintendo's Wii U is off to a decent start. Since it's fall launch, the console has managed to sell about 1.4 million units, and a deal from Best Buy may push that number a bit higher by the year's end.

Spotted by sidequesting, the retailer is offering a sort of middle ground between the two packages originally offered by Nintendo. At launch, there were two different versions of the Wii U available for purchase; a basic, white edition, boasting 8GB of storage, including the console itself, gamepad, HDMI cable, and sensor bar, for $299.99. The second was the premium edition, in black, with 32GB of storage. It comes with everything the basic edition has, as well as a stand for the gamepad, console, and a copy of Nintendo Land, all for $349.99.

Best Buy's offering the basic package, but they're throwing in the copy of Nintendo Land. Really, not too bad considering their deal comes in at the same price of the original basic package, at $299.99. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the premium edition, but it's still a great deal.

The promotion officially begins on Dec. 29, so if Santa didn't bring you that shiney new console for Christmas, here's your chance to grab one for New Years. And remember, watch out for that system update, Nintendo isn't adding a fix until sometime next year.
