EA Announces Dead Space 3 Demo Arrives in January, Early Access for Xbox 360 Players

Electronic Arts is keeping momentum up after the holidays, announcing the demo for Dead Space 3 is set to arrive Jan. 22.

However, impatient Xbox 360 owners are getting a chance at the demo a week early. Fans can sign up at the Dead Space site here if you want the demo for Jan. 15.

The demo will offer a taste of the co-op mode for Isaac Clarke and John Carver, the new, hostile and icey environement of Tau Volantis, and maybe even a peek at some of the new necromorphs. Unfortunately, the demo is only for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. A demo for PC wasn't announced.

EA also offered up a video so gamers can get caught up with the Dead Space story so far.

Visceral Games recently announced that the Xbox 360 version will feature Kinect voice controls that should "make it easier for co-op partners to give each other health or ammo, find objectives, revive one another and more." They also made a blog post about how dementia will affect Clarke and newcomer John Carver, sometimes even sharing hallucinations.

Special weapons have been announced depending on where you pre-order your game from, and EA has also announced a Limited Edition of Dead Space 3, which offers two bonus suits, as well as two bonus weapons, different than those announced for pre-orders.

Dead Space 3 will be available in the States for Windows PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on Feb. 5, and in Europe Feb. 8.
