"Narcos" fans are reportedly asking if drug busters Peña and Murphy will be seen again, as they try to deal with all things that are narcotic. While the series can go back to the lives of Peña and Murphy, some believe that the "Narcos" Season 2 could do better if Murphy's family is the focus of the sympathetic part of the story, Fox News reported.
"Narcos" Season 2 appeared to have found some reasons that brought it through the ferocious ironies of the final days of Escobar. According to reports, the narrative of the kingpin's rise to power including his fall is already completed, putting an end to the role of Wagner Moura on the series. However, it has also left the fans with several questions.
With that said, the darker side of Murphy was seen in "Narcos" Season 2, pushing him nearer to the status of being an anti-hero. In the third episode, Peña and Murphy tried to forget what they had witnessed so far. Murhpy was trying not to cry while he talks to his wife over the phone, while the messed-up Peña was having sex with a prostitute.
There are also speculations about the likely continuation of Narcos Season 2's two-dimensional study of things, which was generally much deeper. Based on reviews, things were not taken as one-sided as characters were felt as more real. There were several moments on the show, which indicated that it was at its most two-dimensional.
Nevertheless, regardless if "Narcos" Season 3 will deliver a real portrayal of corruption, law enforcement and a deeper look at each character while they tackle the Cali Cartel, it still remains to be seen. However, given that the depths, the various layers, the darker edges and the exciting dealings that were shown in "Narcos" Season 2 were considered phenomenal, Highsnobiety reported.
