NBA Latest Trade Rumors, News & Update: Kevin Martin Next Top Free Agent In Focus

Kevin Martin is without a team yet but given his outside shooting threat, he is likely to be the next big name to be signed up by an NBA team soon. The only question now is who?

Martin last played for the San Antonio Spurs though is tenure was not that striking. He did debut with a bang but somehow fizzled in the end. No he finds himself waiting for a team to pick him up and there are several suitors.

As mentioned in a separate post, one team that could snag Martin would be a former team in the Memphis Grizzlies. The team did sign up Lance Stephenson recently but there is no denying that a catch-and-shoot player can be a big asset for first-year coach Tom Thibodeau.

NY Knicks interested too?

Another team tied up to Martin is the New York Knicks. Seemingly loaded in the guard position, adding a long-tom artist could be a big boost to head coach Jeff Hornacek.

His outside sniping could help out Derrick Rose and the big men inside, potentially racking up the firepower that includes Carmelo Anthony and sophomore Kristaps Porzingis.

He seems fit for either squad though Martin is likely to weigh his options. That includes the amount of playing time he could get as well as the team’s chances.

On paper, the logical choice would be the Knicks. The Grizzlies has been beseeched with player injuries and everyone knows how their season ended up – a disappointment.

An advantage the Memphis does hold is that it is a place that Martin has been in before. The faces may be a bit new but all that should be easy to adjust to if he decides to sign up there.

Of his caliber, there is no denying Martin could be an asset to any team in need of shooters. The possibilities are endless though it can be whittled down to teams who still have space on their team rosters.
