Tech fans are pretty excited about the announcement of Apple's seventh generation flagship smartphone, the iPhone 7. However, some fans are disappointed that other devices that were expected to be announced during the Sept. 7 Apple event were snubbed. One of the most anticipated devices that was not mentioned at the event is the iPad Pro 2. Recent reports suggest that the new tablet is no longer expected to arrive this year.
According to a report by Mac Rumors, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo said that the second generation iPad Pro 2 will most likely arrive in 2017 with its 10.5-inch mini version. "We expect three new iPads (12.9" iPad Pro 2, new size 10.5" iPad Pro & low-cost 9.7" iPad) to be launched in 2017, though this may not drive shipment growth amid structural headwinds; 2017F shipments to fall 10-20% YoY," explained by the reputable Apple analyst.
In a report by Bloomberg, it was mentioned that the new iPad Pro 2 will carry advanced specifications and additional features such as the iPad-centric software, which will be integrated with Apple's latest iOS 10 mobile operating system. The device is also rumored to have a new drawing and handwriting stylus - the improved Apple Pencil.
Despite the continued silence of the Cupertino-based company with regard to the development and release of iPad Pro 2, rumors about its specs and features have already caught the attention of consumers. However, these rumors and speculations have yet to be confirmed by the company. Fans are advised to take them with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, Christian Today reported that the current iteration of iPad Pro is currently being sold with significant discounts across the U.S. The device's 128 GB variant is now available with a $50 price cut, while the 256 GB model is on display with a $100 discount. Although the current price cut does not necessarily mean that something better is going to come out, fans are hoping that Apple will finally launch the new iPad Pro 2.
