Randy Orton was prevented from competing at WWE Backlash in what was reportedly talked about even before Sunday. The reason behind it is allegedly due to a concussion, an offshoot from his previous encounter with Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam.
Kane stepped up for Orton against Bray Wyatt, eventually winning the match. But more importantly, the severity of the “Viper’s” condition is what most were concerned about, some even hinting that he could end up just like WWE SmackDown general manager Daniel Bryan.
Orton performs at live event
All those speculations were somehow doused when Orton appeared at a live event in Fairfax, Virginia. He teamed up with John Cena against the Wyatt Family though is performance was limited.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Orton didn’t take a bump in the match and only went in during a hot tag from Cena. He hit his patented RKO which eventually gave him and Cena the win over the Wyatts.
The match wasn’t a long one and noticeable was Orton being spared from hits and punches. That said, Orton may not be fully recovered yet for now with his future matches likely to go the same route.
Dish at Conor McGregor?
While his fate hangs in the balance, the “Apex Predator” may have taken a swipe at UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor as well through Twitter. As most know, the WWE are not too fond of McGregor right now following his swipe on the WWE. Orton is the latest star to dish at “The Notorious”, the tweet of which can be seen below.
Regardless, the state of Orton is what is important right now. That punishment he got from Lesnar is still bothering him, placing him in an odd state. A best way to aid growing speculations on his health would be to watch out for future regular shows and see if he can finally take a hit.
