'Harry Potter' Latest News & Updates: Daniel Radcliffe Admits He Won't Mind Having Someone Else Play The Boy Who Lived

It has been five years since Daniel Radcliffe last played The Boy Who Lived in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" in 2011. However, the actor shared that he is still open to taking on the titular role again. On the other hand, Radcliffe said that he does not mind if someone else would play Harry Potter.

After author J.K. Rowling featured the new book "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," there were rumors that Warner Bros. would create a film for it. Talks started circulating whether Daniel Radcliffe would return to play Harry Potter again. The British actor has been busy working on other projects since the last Harry Potter film, but has a special spot for the character anytime.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Radcliffe was at the Deauville Film Festival to accept the Rising Star award. He said that he will never close the opportunity of playing Harry Potter again, adding how it would be stupid not to. However he feels happy and secure enough to let another play it. Radcliffe continued that in the meantime, it is not even a concern because he is still too young to play the character. Even after a decade, he explained that he would still feel strange about returning to the role.

ScreenRant noted that according to Radcliffe, there is a part of him that believes how it might be better to leave his last performance untouched. There is that risk of either making the Harry Potter series better or worse. He made a comparison between the effects of the "Star Wars" sequels to the original trilogy. He is partly afraid of ruining the good impressions that the Harry Potter films have given fans in the past several years.

The Harry Potter star also talked about other related actors like Jamie Parker and Eddie Redmayne. Radcliffe said that he thinks Parker could play the role in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," although he has not seen the play yet. He also commended Oscar winner Redmayne, who stars in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." More updates and details on Harry Potter are expected soon.
