'Wolverine 3' Spoilers, News & Updates: Mister Sinister Confirmed As Villain; How This Contributes To The Movie's R-Rating

"Wolverine 3" is already in development with Hugh Jackman set to reprise his role as the titular hero. Mister Sinister will reportedly play the new big baddie in the upcoming "Wolverine 3" film. In the meantime, fans continue to speculate the setting after the post-credit teaser in "X-Men: Apocalypse."

ScreenRant stated that some "Wolverine 3" fans believe that the next movie will follow the Old Man Logan storyline, with the character already in his later years and dealing with new challenges relative to his advanced age. Others speculate that X-23, Logan's successor, will be introduced. There were talks that Hugh Jackman plans to make "Wolverine 3" his last X-Men movie. Some of the mysteries surrounding "Wolverine 3" may actually be found in the few seconds of the post-credit scene.

Director Bryan Singer confirmed that Mister Sinister will play the main villain in "Wolverine 3." The last scene in "X-Men: Apocalypse" showed a man inside the Weapon X facility with an Essex Corp briefcase. Mister Sinister is also known as Nathaniel Essex, who is obsessed with experimenting on other mutants. Apocalypse was also involved in the development of Mister Sinister. Although the last film did not provide a connection between the two characters, "Wolverine 3" may shed light upon Sinister's introduction.

Cinema Blend noted that in the ending teaser, the man acquired a blood/DNA of Weapon X, which belonged to Wolverine. Mister Sinister owns Essex Corp., so there will certainly be some points to cover surrounding the Weapon X project. Sinister has the ability to control every cell in his body and is arguably immortal. Not a lot of details about "Wolverine 3" has been revealed so far, except that it will be set in the future.

Fox has not yet confirmed who will play Mister Sinister in "Wolverine 3," although there are rumors that Richard E. Grant may take on the role. Overall, "Wolverine 3" is expected to provide a proper ending to the saga and Hugh Jackman's legacy as Logan. "Wolverine 3" is set to launch on Mar. 3, 2017 in the United States. More updates and details are expected soon.
