The new Minecraft snapshot is now available, and shows that Mojang is getting in the spirit of the season.
Once your PC's calender hits Dec. 25, all your storage boxes get a Christmas makeover, made up to look like presets complete with ribbon, instead of just a plain 'ol, ho-hum, brown box.
Besides the wrapped gifts, the snapshot also adds a couple of fixes, including an item desynchronization bug when using chests and other containers, and mobs getting stuck after getting smacked by players.
This isn't the first time Mojang has gone all "fa la la la la" for its players. Back in 2010, all users were given a Christmas Cape to show Mojang's holiday cheer.
Not to be left out, Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft are getting festive too, with the aptly named "Festive Skin Pack." The pack offers up a bevy of holdiay themed outfits for the miners to deck the halls with, including a snowman, elves, gingerbread man, Santa Claus, his requisite reindeer, and an uber-Christmas sweater.
The pack is said to be "coming soon," but given the nature of the costumes, it should be here before Christmas.
As it stands now, Minecraft is currently the third most played online game on the Xbox 360, coming in after Halo and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Major updates are currently being worked on by Mojang for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions.
