'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, Latest News & Update: Quake to Go Up Against Ghost Rider in New Season

The countdown to "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 has begun and fans are already excited for its return this month. The last season of the show found Coulson no longer in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division) and viewers are curious to see how the organization will fare without his leadership.

According to Screenrant, it seems that Jason O'Mara will be taking Coulson's (Clark Gregg) place as the director of the newly government-reinstated organization in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4. At first, O'Mara's role in the organization wasn't clear, as his name doesn't appear in the synopsis of the season premiere.

However, SpoilerTV has obtained the synopsis for the second episode, which is titled "Meet the New Boss." While the second episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 won't revolve around O'Mara, we're pretty sure it will explain a lot about his role in the organization and how it will affect Daisy (Chloe Bennet).

According to the synopsis of the second episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4, "Daisy sets out to battle Ghost Rider, but at a terrible cost; the new director’s bold agenda shocks everyone." This "bold agenda" is clearly under wraps for now, but it may spell trouble for Daisy, who is not operating under the organization's orders anymore.

It seems that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 will also find Daisy going up against Robbie Reyes A.K.A. Ghost Rider, which means there will be consequences. Ghost Rider will be played by Gabriel Luna, as per Comicbook, and will have a different origins story than that of the Ghost Rider that viewers may know from Nicholas Cage's films.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 will also feature "Fear of the Walking Dead" actor Lorenzo James Henrie as Gabe, the developmentally disabled brother of Robbie Reyes. The show returns this Tuesday, September 20 at 10 p.m.
