Xbox 360's Minecraft Update Adds New Enemies, Potion Brewing, Nether Fortresses, Has Sold Over 4 Million Copies on XBLA

Minecraft on Xbox 360 is quickly catching up to its PC counterpart, especially with the next update. PlayXBLA (as confirmed by developer 4J Studios) reports that Title Update 7 (catchy, right?) is prepared to add some key Minecraft elements. Check out the full list below!

- Animal Breeding
- Potion Brewing
- Experience Points
- Enchantment Table (max level 30)
- Mushroom Biome
- Nether Fortress
- New Tutorial World
- Villagers
- Mooshrooms
- Blaze
- Snow Golems
- Magma Cubes
- Baby Animals
- Experience earned from smelting, breeding, and mining

Unfortunately, we can't yet say when these additions are coming, as the title update's release date is yet to be given.

But what's truly impressive, is that despite not being a full version, Minecraft on Xbox 360 has still managed to sell millions of copies. By the end of November, close to 4.5 million copies of the game had been sold. When the game was first made available on 360, it managed to break day one sales records, and later went on to hit the three million mark just two months later.

In addition, it's also one of the most actively played titles among 360 gamers, coming in third after Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and Halo 4. As it stands now,

An open ended sandbox (literally) style game available for less than $30, it's not hard to see why so many people have latched onto the Minecraft phenomenon, and further updates should help keep it along. Players can join a multitude of different servers dedicated to various game mods, where they can work together as a team to build something amazing, or fiendishly destroy structures. Since the game's release, between PC and Xbox 360 versions, over 8.2 million have purchased the game in all.

There's already talk about the next update for Minecraft on the 360, which is rumored to add "The End" so players can finally "complete" the game.
