PS4 Slim, PS4 Pro, PS4 Neo News & Updates: Release Dates Announced; More VR Games Expected At PlayStation Meeting 2016

Sony has recently debuted new models of its flagship console; the PlayStation 4 Slim and the PlayStation 4 Pro on the 2016 PlayStation Meeting. Surprisingly, a lot of the consoles' new features are already widely known to PlayStation fans even before these were released. This is because these fans can just barely contain their excitement as their favourite console gets upgraded to be faster, lighter, more efficient and more powerful.

Gamespot reports that the current model is going to be phased out while the slim version of the PlayStation 4 will be taking its place in the market. This slimmer model features a more energy efficient system with 500GB of storage that will become the benchmark for the PS4 as it moves forward. This new PlayStation 4 Slim will be available for purchase in most markets all over the world in September 15 for $299. Sony also says that the volume has been reduced by as much as 30 percent and weighs around 16 and 25 percent less than its predecessor. Also, the new PlayStation 4 Slim uses around 28 and 34 percent less electricity than the previous larger PlayStation 4.

This PlayStation Slim however, comes barely as a surprise for those who have been anticipating the next model for the PlayStation. Not only has a PlayStation Slim been rumored long before it had been released, but plenty of fans have already gotten their hands on them with videos, pictures and the likes. This heavy anticipation started back in August when someone spread a post online about buying a redesigned system on a Craiglist counterpart in the UK.

Mirror reports that other than a slimmer and more efficient version of the latest Sony console, a more powerful one is set to hit the shelves: the PS4 Pro. The team strangely showcased a demo of a range of games in 4k UltraHD including Spiderman and Mass Effect: Andromeda, which only became a venue for user to complain.

The equally anticipated PlayStation VR did not get the attention which fans wanted despite its imminent release this coming month. Fans are expecting another event that would showcase the virtual reality enhancement of the timeless favorite console when it comes out soon enough.
