BioWare has just announced the launch of this weekend multiplayer challenge for Mass Effect 3, "Operation: Onslaught."
"Losses of industrial capacity have caused shortages of specialized weapons on several fronts. Population centers must be reclaimed for us to rebuild munitions factories, and N7s will lead recon and assault teams to prep the way for regular infantry to take the territory."
The objective is fairly straightforward; players must individually earn 75,000 points of damage using an assault rifle on any map, on any difficulty mode. Points are cumulative across matches.
Operation: Onslaught will run from December 7, up to December 9 for all platforms. Players who complete the challenge will be rewarded with a Commendation Pack.
The third storyline DLC expansion, Omega, was released late November. Omega sees Shepard aiding Asari gangster Aria T'Loak in retaking the Omega space station from Cerberus forces. The DLC introduced new enemies, such as the Cerberus Dragoons from theRetaliation Pack multiplayer DLC, and featured the first female Turian character seen in the Mass Effect trilogy.
