Xbox 360 Leads Console Sales For The Month Of November With 1.26 Million 360s Sold

Xbox 360 led U.S. console sales for the 23rd consecutive month with sales of 1.26 million units in November. The Xbox 360 sold more than 750,000 consoles in the U.S. over the week of Black Friday, according to Microsoft and NPD Group data.

Microsoft also announced that total spending in the month of November for the Xbox 360 platform (hardware software and accessories) reached $1.2 billion, the most for any console in the U.S., according to NPD Group.

In November Xbox 360 also held four of the top 10 selling console game titles including: Halo 4,Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed 3 and Madden NFL 13.

In November, Nintendo sold a combined total of 1.75 million hardware units including the Wii, Wii u, DS, and 3DS. Nintendo of America's President Reggie Fils-Aime told CNET that 400,000 Wii U units were sold in North America during the consoles first week of sale, which included the Black Friday.

Sony has yet to release its monthly sales figures, but the company did announce its Black Friday sales. The PlayStation 3 sold 525,000 units and the PlayStation Vita sold 160,000 units in the United States during the Black Friday sales period.

Sony offered both systems for $199.99 and bundled with games. The PlayStation 3 bundle featured a 250GB system, a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership, the Uncharted Dual Pack (Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2), and the Infamous Collection (Infamous 1 and Infamous 2).

The Vita offered several bundle options including the Assassin's Creed III: Liberation bundle, and the Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified bundle.

Microsoft is continuing to offer promotion for the Xbox 360 through the holiday season including a $50-off pricing promotion on select Xbox 360 consoles and three holiday bundles. The company is also offering the console at $99 with a two-year Xbox LIVE Gold commitment at $14.99/month.
