EA is offering details for the weapons offered with Dead Space 3 pre-orders.
Once again, your choice weapon comes down to retailer. If you're patient, the weapons will likely make their way to light as DLC, but for now, this is how it is.
Go with GameStop, and the EG-900 SMG is all yours, an "EarthGov-issued sub machinegun built for urban warfare...compact but deadly, sporting an internal hyper-accelerator maximum damage."
If online is your style, Amazon is offering "The Tesla Enervator." Developed by Sovereign Colonies "from an overdriven focus coil to 'humanely' eliminate dangerous specimens," it "delivers a precision blast causing instantaneous electrocution and molecular destabilization in the target. In test subjects, death was instantaneous." Humane? This is Dead Space 3, who wants humane?
EA has also announced a Limited Edition of Dead Space 3, which offers two bonus suits, as well as two bonus weapons, different than those announced for pre-orders.
Dead Space 3 cuts to the heart of deep space terror. Players will embark on a thrilling ride through space that takes them to a hostile new planet, the icy world of Tau Volantis. Fortunately, they are not alone this time around. The fully integrated drop-in/drop-out co-op feature, a first for the series, gives players the option to play alone or team-up with a friend anytime. Players that choose to take down the terror together will experience additional story details, side missions and gameplay mechanics only found when playing as John Carver.
Dead Space 3 is being developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. This product has not yet been rated by ESRB or PEGI, but if past games are any indication, expect lots of wonderful blood n' guts. Dead Space 3 launches in North America on Feb. 5, 2013.
